Hello Members,

When we look back, it was an eventful period for Nerul Nair Seva Samaj. We received registration under Society's Registration Act and Bombay Trust Act. We also received registration of our trust under Income Tax Act. Now, donations made to our trust are eligible for exemption u/s 80 (G). It was not roses all the way; as a budding trust, it had to face a lot of hurdles or balarishta. We have overcome all the difficulties with flying colours and grown from strength to strength. However, these are all only necessary formalities we needed in our long march towards our goals.

We celebrated Onam 2008 with much fanfare. We also celebrated Mannam Jayanti 2009 and participated in the Nair Mahasangamam at Airoli under the auspices of Kendriya Nair Samskarika Sangh. We also celebrate Thiruvathira and Ramayana parayanam. Nevertheless, these are only our ancillary cultural activities.

We participate and conduct the wedding rituals of the member-families in our vicinity. We take charge of the funeral ceremonies of the departed souls in our jurisdiction. We also conduct blood donation camp. Nonetheless, these are just any Nair organization is supposed to do.

We have a lot of dreams and our wish-list is very long but the time is running out. To serve our society better and to provide world class amenities to them, we should have our own charitable hospital and educational institutions apart from having our own office. This will also be the befitting tribute we pay to the founding members of NSS.

Therefore, it's no time for complacence; we cannot sit idle until our avowed goals are achieved. To begin with, we are approaching with a request to help us purchase an office for its operations. As you are all very well aware of, currently we are functioning from a rented office. From day one, it had been our dream to have our own office. To materialize this dream, co-operation and generosity from all of you is very important. Apart from saving our monthly rentals, having our own office will benefit us in a long way. It will allow us to plan and execute our cherished goals one by one albeit in a small way. Sure, we need to make a landmark in the history of Nerul and a benchmark in service in the minds of its inhabitants.

Having set lofty goals for ourselves, the time has come now for us to act and achieve. Rather than paying lip service, let’s follow the foot prints of our great leaders who set up monuments out of nothing. The only capital they started with was sheer determination and eagerness to serve the society. They have taught us that there is nothing that is impossible provided you have a will to do.

Yes, we need you to get involved in this drive wholeheartedly and make it a grand success by participating in:
the fund-raising campaign,
liberal donation,
providing references and
subscribing to advertisements.

We are requesting each one of you to contribute for a minimum of one square foot of office space at the earliest.
