AN APPEAL
Dear Members,
We are extremely thankful to you for all your support, involvement and guidance to bring Nerul Nair Seva Samaj to what it is today. You stood by us and made each of our programmes a grand success. Your co-operation and spirit, since its inception two years ago, have overwhelmed us, to say the least.
As you are very well aware that currently we are functioning from a rented office. From day one, it had been our dream to have our own office. Needless to say, we lost previous opportunities owing to, perhaps, lack of collective vision and far-sight, in spite of our members being the most co-operative and generous donors. While others have marched ahead, we were left behind. Friends, let us remember, better late than never.
To provide more meaningful and welfare-oriented activities the following are some of the projects/ programmes visualized by our Samaj:
- Educational institutions
- Scholarship to children for education
- Promotion of cultural and sports activities
- Relief to the poor
- Health facilities/ Medical assistance to the needy
We would like to initiate commencement of these projects in a phased manner in the right earnest at the earliest possible.
We understand from CIDCO that owning an office and a corpus fund of about Rupees one crore are prerequisites for submitting tender for the plot. Hence, initially, we would like to buy a small office and raise fund for the purchase of land from CIDCO.
The General Body held on 13 th December, 2009, had constituted a Corpus Fund Sub Committee entrusting it with a dedicated task of raising necessary fund for major projects. This committee, in close coordination with the Governing Body, has decided to approach you with a request to wholeheartedly contribute to the Corpus Fund.
Although the detailed estimates are being worked out, it is of utmost importance that we raise fund to the tune of Rupees one crore to enable us to be eligible for the CIDCO bids. If a member contributes a minimum of Rs.10,000/- either as lump sum or by monthly installments of Rs 2000/- or so, we may be able to raise a good part of the requirement. The remaining amount can be generated through various means like entertainment programmes, donations and loans from the members.
Please note that donations to Nerul Nair Seva Samaj are exempted under section 80 G of The Income tax Act, 1961.
Please do come forward and get involved. Contribute generously. Let us too be proud by proving our presence in the city!
